Pointing the Finger

Maybe you know the saying, “When you point one finger, there are three fingers pointing back to you". There are, as with all pearls of wisdom, a myriad of ways to express this truth.

Jesus said, “Don’t focus on the speck in your brother’s eye while ignoring the log in your own eye". The more contemporary expression would be, “Look in the mirror, Sister!”.

Many of us hold such beliefs as: “I get bullied”, “They all humiliate me”, “No one treats me with respect”... Those sorts of things.

The question to ask ourselves is: “Really? Do they really all treat me like that. Is that really true?”. Then think of the three fingers pointing back to you when you point that one outwards, and ask yourself: “And how do I treat myself? Do I bully myself? Do I humiliate myself? Do I treat myself with disrespect?”

Do you?

Remember – substitute evolution for revolution, and you will BE the change you want to experience in the world.
