Have You Ever Stopped To Think

Have You Ever Stopped To Think?, the first book in Sally Wilson's The LaLa Chronicles series, opens a world where whimsy and wisdom meld seamlessly in the lives of comical characters, including the Zimney, Sozit, Fink, and Moof.

An adventure for the young and young at heart into the wild of our own vulnerabilities and strengths, this beautiful, playful poetry embraces the imaginative, messy, and magnificent journey—the shared experiences that unite us all. An interactive blend of whimsical wordplay, art, wit and music, fostering a sense of connection and engagement and shared delight among parents and children, friends, and teachers alike.

This unique, rhyming, fun-filled story not only invites readers to voice the lines aloud but also offers a beautiful blend of full-colour art and recorded music. Themes of friendship, overcoming fear and accepting the differences we all have are woven into beautiful prose.

'Have you ever stopped to ruminate,
On the monster minority's inner state?'

Wisdom and wit meld seamlessly in the lives of these two timeless, sweetly relatable and memorable creatures. An adventure for the young and young at heart into the wild of our own vulnerabilities and strengths, this beautiful, playful poetry embraces the imaginative, messy, and magnificent journey — the shared experiences and fears that unite us all.

The unique, fun-filled story encapsulated in this volume not only invites readers to voice the lines aloud but also offers a beautiful blend of full-colour art and recorded music. Themes of acceptance, nurturing space to wonder and take time, simplifying the seemingly complex and appreciating the small (yet important) things around us are woven into beautiful prose.

‘Every road, when you think of it, is just one step,
One, then one, but only one at a time;
So, relax and enjoy the only step there is,
The Now Step, oh dear Old Grouch friend mine.’

Reviews

"This book keeps readers, young and old, coming back for more. It's a treasure I can't wait to share with my students!"

Megan Flint, Music Educator & Researcher / Classroom Teacher, New Zealand

"A Delightful Journey.. this book took me right back to the enchanting world of Dr. Seuss, but with a powerful twist... It's not often you find a book that's as much a feast for the eyes as it is for the ears! This book has quickly become a cherished piece in my collection, reminding me of the joy and depth that children's literature can hold."

Kirsten Macdonald, bestselling author, Editor of Ponderings Magazine, Digital Storyteller
