ARE ‘VIBES’ A REAL THING?

ARE ‘VIBES’ A REAL THING?

It can seem like a miracle, can’t it, the seamless movement of flocks of birds in the sky, schools of fish flashing light and shadow, herds of migratory animals across the African plains? It’s exquisite and so difficult to fathom.

It was thought for a very long time that magneto receptors, which allow this group coherence and synchrony in animals, didn’t exist in humans. The HeartMath Institute has conducted research which, it seems, is proving this wrong! Though this research is relatively new, another aspect of research into group coherence (or lack thereof!) is more established.

Does your team work well together? Your family?

When you walk into a room, do you pick up ‘vibes’ from certain people, beyond physical cues, which generally prove correct?

Are there certain people in your circle who have a draining effect on you?

We do influence the electromagnetic fields of others, thereby affecting their HRV (Heart Rate Variability) and general coherence across the body’s energetic and physical circulatory systems. It’s measurable. That’s why some people have an energy vampire effect. That’s why some people somehow light up every room they walk into. They are changing the coherence of others, through their own state.

In a HeartMath study, a research subject was put in a room with three examiners. The individual subject was ignorant that they were, in fact, the subject of research. The subject’s state of coherence was measured throughout the experiment. At a certain point, the examiners all consciously entered a coherent state. The subject’s state then changed from incoherent (likely tension, anxiousness, nervousness) to coherent through the influence of those around them. They achieved group coherence.

Practically speaking, how might this state of individual and group coherence reflect itself in your life?

Some examples:

·        healthier group dynamics in family and at work

·        ability to think more clearly – improved cognitive function

·        improved physical coordination

·        more easeful problem solving

·        responses rather than reactions

·        shorter meetings!

·        increased creative ability

·        better health and energy

We can’t ‘control’ others’ vibes, but we most certainly can practise being in a coherent state ourselves, and thus a positive influence on those around us. Get in touch for more information. I’d also suggest checking out www.heartmath.org for their many free resources.
